Po’ Boy Beats
A conceptual brand identity for Po’ Boy Beats, during my studies at Shillington, a food redistribution initiative serving the communities of New Orleans.
Founded by local entrepreneur Maya, the organisation aims to address food insecurity through accessible meals, education and community-led support. The challenge was to create a brand that felt both uplifting and action-oriented while remaining deeply connected to the culture of the city.
Inspired by the comfort of shared meals and the rhythm that flows through the streets of New Orleans, the concept centres on the idea of food with a beat. Whether found in music, a heartbeat or a community march, rhythm becomes a symbol of connection, nourishment and collective action.
The resulting identity combines warmth, energy and movement to create a brand that feels welcoming, empowering and rooted in the people it serves. Designed to support everything from food truck experiences to community programs, Po' Boy Beats celebrates the power of food to bring people together and create meaningful change.
