The Beauty of Bees
Created while studying at Shillington, The Beauty of Bees is an exhibition exploring the delicate relationship between bees and our environment, highlighting their importance to the future of our ecosystems and the role we play in protecting them.
The challenge was to create a visual identity for print that felt distinctly connected to bees without relying on the expected visual language: yellow, black and hexagons.
Instead, the identity looks to the bees' natural habitat. A field of green becomes the backdrop. Scale shifts between oversized and miniature elements. Words drift across layouts as if carried by flight, while the two "e"s in bee merge into a simple bee-like form.
The result is playful without becoming childish. An asymmetrical composition, restrained colour palette and considered typography create a visual system that feels contemporary, confident and suited to a design-conscious exhibition audience.
